This is a resource I’ve returned to time after time. UROK (pronounced You Are OK) is a site full of the stories of others who have struggled with a wide variety of mental health issues. The site lists the eye-popping statistic that 46.3% of 13-18 year olds have a diagnosable mental illness according to The National Institute of Mental Health.
Like many, for me it was Wil Wheaton’s heartfelt story that first got my attention.
The site also has a curated list of useful resources that is worth bookmarking and sharing with anyone you know who’s struggling.
No matter what you’re going through, you are not alone. And you are OK. Check it out.
(And not everyone is in a position to do this, but as of this writing, an anonymous donor is matching all tax-deductible donations to the site, dollar-for-dollar.)
